Steve Jones is the new owner of Birch Ave Radiators Ltd and the newest member of ADRAD’s national network of radiator experts.
Originally from Chester in northwest England, Steve, and his family moved to New Zealand in 2006, “for a two-year trial.”
Ten years later Steve, his wife Jan and sons Declan (19) and Jacob (20) have adopted New Zealand as their homeland and embraced the great Kiwi lifestyle in a place they call paradise.
Steve has spent the last ten years in the pulp and paper industry in Whakatane and Kawerau and recently made some life changes which included being his own boss and working closer to home.
He bought Birch Ave Radiators from the previous owner Grant Schwarz and is confident his experience as a fitter turner, teacher, and mechanical maintenance engineer, together with his “there’s nothing we won’t tackle” attitude will bring a new energy and skill set to the busy radiator business.
Steve says about being the new member of ADRAD’s national network of radiator experts:
“It’s great knowing we can rely on the ADRAD team for nationwide support and quality parts and service. We’re looking forward to building our customer base, meeting people and being an active part of the Tauranga business community.”
Steve jokes that he purchased the business so he’d have a workshop to store his FJ 1200 Yamaha motorbike which he’s been gradually restoring. That’s when he’s not coaching soccer at the local school or kayaking or boating…
Jan, a pre-school teacher, helps Steve with office management and customer service and also shares his love of the Kiwi lifestyle. “Moving to New Zealand was the best thing we ever did for our family, and we’re all looking forward to this exciting new chapter.”
